Percussion Workshop with the Tropa de percussion Ritmo Caribeño — Team Building

Neville

In-entreprise "Team Building", festivals, and corporate entertainment sessions always give spectacular results. Different types of percussion are brought in and used by a team composed of experimented and professional animators.

Furthermore, we feature a unique service which can introduce an energizing break during meetings and conventions, or add a festive element or a colourful show to your galas and official reunions. Such events may last from 10 to 60 minutes, or take the simple form of a "light cardio with tie" event, enough to stretch those legs and back after sitting all day, surrounded by captivating rythms.

Tropa de percussions Ritmo caribeño also offers special classes to teachers and intermediate/advanced students in Latin percussion, who want to sharpen their techniques, their body position, their fluidity, their musicality, their rythm and their style.

Contact us, we will be pleased to give you complete details.

Osmundo
Osmundo2

Founded in 2002, La Grande Orchestre Cubaine de Montréal is composed of excellent Cuban musicians taught by the director Osmundo Calzado. This orchestra performed at the International Jazz Festival of Montreal Opening Show in 2003, and charmed spectators with its frenzied music.

The musicians take pleasure in mixing musical genres and epochs, playing salsa, cha-cha-cha, mambo and rumba melodies, while dropping in classical themes, as did the Buena Vista Social Club, and other contemporary rythms.

Caridad Cruz

Caridad Cruz

Caridad Cruz Vilain is born in Havana, Cuba, in a family which was fond of music and Afro-Cuban culture. Her father, Daniel Cruz, was a professional violonist, and the famous Celia Cruz was the cousin of her grand-mother. (Celia had already left Cuba before Caridad's birth; so, they never met.)

Caridad studied music for three years at the Escuela Superación Técnico Profesional Ignacio Cervantes in Havana, under Argelia Fragoso.

In March 2004, she did her first Canadian performance with Jane Bunnett and the Spirits of Havana during the Global Divas Concert in Toronto. This concert received elogious critics in the Globe and Mail. It was also broadcasted across Canada on two occasions, via CBC Radio.

Caridad did concerts in Montreal, New York, in the New Jersey and Connecticut. In U.S.A., she sang along with certain of the most talented latin jazz artists in New York, such as the bass player Ruben Rodriguez and the congera Chembo Corniel. In Montreal, supported by the nine members of Ritmo Caribeño's salsa orchestra, she performed a vocal tribute to Celia Cruz, which was re-staged at the Montreal Jazz Festival in July.
